I. Gathering Information
Each issue adds a new dimension. Our first issue's focus was on the
status of the beaches. This year weve added a Lodging &
Accommodation Guide and of course updated our Beach, ATM, Gas Station,
Smoke-free Dining and Theatre guides.
Also we are seeking advertisers and sponsors. The difference between advertisers and sponsors is that we have
one stipulation for advertisers: that they let us do a survey so we can rate the business accordingly. This is a key
factor, for is a business is accessible - it should be known to the disabled community and also publishing this
rating lets all visitors know what is available.
Any trained volunteer can do a survey. JAM Specialists INC. will provide volunteers with the training, and be
available for assistance whenever possible.
II. Printing and Distribution
Data is collected, ad copy compiled, organized, and the Directory is created.
All ear-marked internet info will be handled by maxm consulting.
Hard copy distribution will be through the various
Chambers of Commerce across
the Cape, the National Seashore Park and various disability & travel resources, libraries, town halls, and senior centers.
III. Community Investment
Every business that advertises in the Directory will be helping its town. It is very simple and works like this.
All revenue (whether it be sponsor, grant or ad money) is identified by town. Production and administrative costs are
subtracted leaving a NET amount. Each town will receive 25% of the net according to the amount of advertising and
sponsor dollars derived from that town.
Obviously, the more advertisers the better for everyone. This opens businesses to 54 million people with disabilities
& their 74 million family members and friends. It brings more dollars into an area. It provides
each town with a revenue source that is directly linked to the business community via the disability population.
It is a new "bridge" to the Cape.
